Winneshiek County Protects Wetland in Road Project Change
Winneshiek County scales back Middle Hesper Road work near Decorah to spare a high quality wetland on the Thompsons land. Army Corps of Engineers and state officials note the site hosts rare native plants and cannot be recreated easily. The plan keeps the wetland untouched while replacing a small bridge and upgrading a larger structure by Brennan and Skyline Construction teams.
