Lanny Peterson 38 of 4610 Pine View Drive NE filed Tuesday for the District Director 3 seat on the Cedar Rapids Community School Board. He opposes incumbent Mary Ann Kucera and outlines goals to protect education dollars, expand individual student opportunities, and stress accountability while supporting diverse student needs. Linn-Mar Ends Year With Cash and Budgets
The Linn-Mar school board approved the district's year end budget statement noting a June 30 cash balance of 339,107.87 plus unemployment and tort funds bringing the general fund to 421,146.62. Expenditures for 1981 82 totaled 7,893,246.21 with a funded budget of 7,982,700.43. Two contract change orders were approved Bowker and Son for 4593 and B L Anderson Co for 2400. Secretary DeWalle was extended another year and Frank O'Connell reappointed treasurer.

Marion approves county landfill contract reluctantly
