Walkout Hits Two Railroads
UTU struck the Southern Railroad and the Union Pacific in a dispute over work rules. Negotiations in Washington broke off after an all-night session, with more talks arranged later. Child Duck That Squeaks Found After Long Cedar Rapids Search
In Cedar Rapids Westgate addition Cedar Hills a 21 month old boy named Danny Alcaraz vanished from his home and was located after a near six hour search by about 200 volunteers and police. The child who wore a red T shirt and white training pants carried a squeaky duck. He was last seen around 6 30 p m and reported missing at 9 30 p m. The boy is the son of Mr and Mrs Miguel Alcaraz of 6103 Underwood Avenue S W. The extensive search involved house to house checks campers jeeps motorcycles and a trained tracking dog and was led by Capt John Erger and Sgts Larry Ralston and Richard Miller. Officials praised residents and volunteers for their cooperation and effort in the soaking muddy conditions. Continued on Page 2 Column 1.
