Testimony from five current and former analysts described lewd jokes and sexist remarks by policy analyst Jim Friedrich, while defense witnesses disputed the allegations and cited performance concerns.
Kirsten Anderson, ex communications director for the Iowa Senate Republican caucus, claims she was bullied and sexually harassed and fired in May 2013 as retaliation for reporting concerns. The defense concedes some lewd behavior but says firing was due to poor work. Trial addresses reporting channels as Anderson testifies.
Police say Chester H. Rhodes, 66, forged a man’s signature on three checks made out to him after entering the home using a garage code. He admitted the break in and faces felonies for identity theft burglary theft and forgery. Daniel C. Britton, 70, faces assault and indecent exposure charges after an Aug 10 2016 incident at UI Hospitals and Clinics. He was given trespass and harassment warnings. Indecent exposure is a misdemeanor and assault a simple misdemeanor.
