A Bi-State official says toll removal will wait for the Government Bridge deck replacement and phase three repairs. The Government Bridge closure is planned July 7 to September 16, 2001, delaying nearby Centennial Bridge toll removal and requiring lane closures.
Florida inmate Harry Webb Jr. 29 of Jasper faces first degree murder charges in the 1995 death of Vicki Brill 41 found naked in a snow-filled ditch along I 80 near Wiota Iowa. Cass County Sheriff Larry Jones expects Webb to be brought to Iowa soon after DNA matched the crime scene and Webb confessed.
