Plane crashes into camp area kill nine year old boy
A single engine seaplane struck a camping area near the Rock River in unincorporated Moline Illinois killing 9 year old Michael Miner of Rapid City. Pilot Ronald Ransom 29 of Coal Valley was hospitalized in fair condition with head and face injuries. passenger Arthur French was uninjured. Witnesses said the plane turned above the river before diving into the camping area. The boy ran into a tent and was killed. authorities are investigating with the FAA notified.

Man charged with assault in Cedar Rapids dispute
Cedar Rapids police charged Michael DeWayne Colburn aged 20 of 3200 Southland St SW after he allegedly threw his mother in law across the living room in a family dispute. Patricia Vercande 49 a resident at the same address reported she ordered him out and he threw her injuring her right arm. Colburn was arrested at the residence and Vercande suffered a small bruise.
