New Pathology Head Named at Iowa University
The Iowa Board of Regents approved the appointment of Dr. George D. Penick as professor and head of pathology at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, effective August 1. He succeeds Dr. Emory D. Warner, who will remain as a pathology professor after stepping down from administrative duties. Two Fayette Jail Escapees Nabbed
Two men escaped from Fayette county jail at West Union and were recaptured near Walker Minnesota after noon. Tommy Lillibridge 20 of Oelwein and Dennis Dane 21 of Waterloo faced charges including assault and nighttime theft. They reportedly stole cars at West Union Harmony and were captured by Minnesota highway patrol Cass county authorities. Lillibridge on parole from a 10 year breaking and entering sentence in 1968.

Fairfield Iowa soldier John D Skirvin died July 8 in a South Vietnamese hospital from a rare diabetic disease he contracted during a year of duty in Vietnam His parents are Orin Skirvin of Fairfield and Mrs Evelyn Hootman of Monterey California The Defense Department announced the death came on the day he was due to return home.
