Judge Praises Gazette for Restraint in Thomas Murder Case
Judge William R. Eads commended The Gazette for not detailing his in absentia rulings during the Donald E. Thomas murder trial. A Linn County jury found Thomas guilty of first degree murder in the November shooting of his wife Sharon Kaye Thomas. Evidence suppressed included a signed confession, alleged murder weapon, and a high school graduation photo. the judge cited constitutional rights and legal standards for exclusion.
