The Rev Ira F Edwards 72 longtime pastor at Jordan s Grove Baptist near Central City died at his home Monday night after a brief illness. He previously led Calvary Baptist Cedar Rapids for 10 years and was born March 18 1876 in Jackson County. He married Steila Brundage April 15 1914 at Charles City and is survived by his wife four sons three daughters a brother 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Detectives Arrest Man For Quincy Authorities
Cedar Rapids detectives Tuesday arrested LeRoy Darnell 25 of Quincy Illinois on a charge of grand larceny. The arrest followed a request from Quincy authorities who said Darnell and another man took junkyard articles and sold them for 100 dollars. He had been working as a laborer in Cedar Rapids since arriving Monday.

Roy Omer Yoder a 25 year old resident of Kalona was electrocuted when stepping barefoot into flooded water that covered an electric sump pump after severe wind and rain storms in the area. His wife shut off the fuse and removed him from the water but he died at the scene. The storms damaged crops on several farms.

Reckless Driving Costs Woman Driver $100 Fine
