Remains Found in Maquoketa River South of Canton
Human remains were found July 8 in the Maquoketa River near Canton in Jones County. Investigators, aided by other agencies, extended the search as more remains were recovered. The remains are not identified. The case involves Justin Douglas Chambers, missing since November 2020, last seen at Wildwood Acres Campground. His shed burned, his cellphone and car keys were found, and two vehicles were left at the campsite. The search ended due to bad weather and lack of location information.

Single vehicle crash claims Linn County driver near Stone Road
A driver died Sunday afternoon in a single vehicle crash on Highway 151 near Stone Road in Linn County. Deputies found a white 2006 Mercury Mountaineer overturned in water beneath a bridge under construction. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. no other vehicles were involved. The incident remains under investigation.
