University of Iowa Health Care notified about 5 300 patients that a limited data set including patient names dates of admission and medical record numbers was posted online for two years via an open source file sharing site. The breach did not include diagnoses social security numbers or financial data. UIHC moved to remove the files and issued guidance to monitor insurance explanations of benefits and report suspicious activity.
