Diving Accident Paralyzes a Young Man
Duane Frye, 18, dived from the sand into shallow water at Coralville on August 1, 1991, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He underwent rehab at St. Luke's, regained the ability to transfer from his wheelchair to a bed, and now works daily on strength and endurance while planning college and a possible business path.
