Care facility chief reports to mental health administrator
The Linn County supervisors approve a six month trial in which the new county care facility director will report to the Mental Health Services administrator instead of the three supervisors. Forbes Johnson said advertisements for the $24 000 to 30 000 per year post will begin this week for a director to oversee the 225 bed facility and 32 bed psychiatric unit. Johnson and the advisory committee note the plan aims to end the two headed system and improve coordination with the psychiatric unit. The director must meet Iowa Health Department requirements and state waivers were discussed.
