Iowa 80 Truck Stop: From One Couple’s Dream to a Trucking Empire
The Iowa 80 complex in Walcott grew from Moon and Carolyn and their trailer home into a regional hub with fuel, parts, a museum, and an on site catalog and online store. Expansions added showers, laundromat, cinema, medical services, and fast food attractions, while the museum and world’s largest truck stop nickname drew drivers and shoppers. The family run business now employs nearly 500 people and hosts the Walcott Truckers Jamboree since 1979.
