Bakken Pipeline faces long regulatory road in Iowa
Energy Transfer Partners plans a Bakken Pipeline with capacity for 320 000 barrels daily and 8 000 construction and permanent jobs. It would cross 17 Iowa counties, require easements, restoration plans, multiple permits, and public meetings, with a potential 2016 start but likely years away. Local groups and Sen Tom Harkin call for thorough federal review and environmental safeguards.
