Cedar Rapids airport to get new control tower
FAA regional director C R Tex Megulin Jr announces federal approval of a 2 million dollar project to replace the old traffic control tower at Cedar Rapids. Groundbreaking planned for the first week of August, tower to be 97 feet high and open spring 1981 with upgraded solid state equipment to improve visibility during runway expansion.
