Boone Manson and Fort Dodge recorded 1.5 to 2.5 inches in 90 minutes, Des Moines downtown had a 15 minute downpour of about a third inch. The Weather Bureau expects no flooding as thundershowers move southeast across the state.

Boy Injured After Manure Spreader Accident in Waterloo
An 11 year old Cedar Rapids boy, John Baker, was seriously injured when he and a visiting 10 year old were partially pulled into the rotating gears of a manure spreader at Tunis race track near Waterloo. John, son of Leonard and [Mrs.] Baker, remained in serious condition with facial and arm lacerations at St Francis hospital Waterloo. the other boy, Craig Edwards of Minneapolis, suffered only abrasions. The spreader was operated by track worker George Pavin. officials say the lever was tripped, pulling the boy into the rear rotor.
