Cedar Rapids police say Joshua Benson 29 died in a single vehicle crash on I 380 near the Highway 30 exit early Thursday. Responders shut an exit for over three hours as officers investigated merge attempts and loss of control. direction unknown.
A SUV driven by 16 year old Alexander Steenblock pulled in front of a pickup driven by 54 year old Charles Heins on Jappa Road just outside Cedar Rapids. Steenblock and Heins were airlifted or transported to hospitals with non life threatening injuries. A second crash occurred as traffic slowed but no one was hurt. Nine bands will perform on the Pedestrian Mall in Iowa City to raise awareness for American Indian education and support for the Emma Goldman Clinic and University of Iowa programs.
