Linn-Mar cuts tax levy after comptroller ruling
Linn-Mar Community School District faces lower taxes as the state comptroller reduces the levy from 15.82 to 15.05 per thousand. Cash reserve taxes drop to 7,880 this year, far below the expected 250,000, affecting cash flow but not the operating budget. The board renews the special education pooling agreement saving about 20,000 and contemplates lunch price increases to cover rising costs. Title I funds exceed expectations, with 30,134 authorized versus 25,115 expected, aiding Novak School and Indian Creek programs.
