Wallace cites American life as best after Far East trip
Vice president Wallace argues the American way of life stands strongest after his China and Siberia travel, while questioning centralized planning and warning of varying views on postwar development in the North Pacific and Eastern Asia. Dr. Walter A. Jessup's death is noted as Iowa's university expands facilities and personnel. A British health anomaly and US diet concerns are discussed alongside evolving views on wartime nutrition and the German rocket as a war-fighting concept.

Wallace Favors Wallace as VP Pick Likely By Convention
The Associated Press reports Democratic leaders expect President Roosevelt to defer to the Chicago convention on the vice presidential choice. If the convention discards Wallace, it would be the party’s action, not the President’s, with Roosevelt loyal to his appointees.
