Woman Dies and Nine Burned in Gasoline Plant Blast
A birthday party at the home of Mr and Mrs Homer Walcott northwest of Toddville ended in tragedy when a gasoline powered light plant exploded. Mrs Walcott died in a Cedar Rapids hospital after severe burns. Ed Nolan tried to rescue her and was badly burned. several other guests suffered burns but survived. The blast caused a fire, and the injured were treated at St Luke’s hospital.
