Doctors renew house calls in Washington program
Dr. Eric De Jonge leads geriatricians and nurse practitioners delivering in home care to Medicare patients in Washington. The Medical House Call program aims to reduce hospital stays and nursing home use by treating about 5 percent of Medicare patients who drive over half of program costs, with home visits supported by a pulse oximeter and EKG in the living room.
