Herbie the Cat’s Final Honor at Hoover Library
The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum says Herbie the cat will be cremated and his ashes scattered on library grounds pending National Park Service approval. Guard Floyd Christensen, who rescued Herbie in 1978, built the cottage replica and tended the feline, who greeted visitors for 18 years before dying June 30.
