Three Groups Launch Drive in C R to Aid Refugees

Two Prisoners Escape Marshall County Jail by Wall
Marshalltown IA AP two men punched a 1 by 24 inch hole in the brick outer wall and escaped from the Marshall county jail during the night. Joseph Hurley 34 of Minneapolis on bad check charges and Kenneth Jackson 18 rural Marshalltown held on burglary and driving while license suspended. 13 prisoners in bullpen. only Hurley and Jackson fled. Several similar escapes have occurred recently. City county building plans include new jail facilities.

Motorcycle Fatal Crash Shakes Lytton Red Oak Area
A double vehicle collision on Route 20 near Lytton and Red Oak left 25 year old Thomas Harvey Schenck of Red Oak dead after his motorcycle collided with a station wagon driven by John Terrill of Atlantic. Lanny Joe Fielding, 21, of Red Oak was treated for injuries, and McDonough 17 of Lytton was hospitalized for bruises. Terrill was released after treatment for shock.

Wife Dies in Crash Mangets 30 Days in Jail
Gerald Montz, 26, of Bennett, was sentenced to 30 days hard labor in Cedar County jail for failure to control his car after a May 7 one car crash near Bennett that killed his wife Margaret, 20. Montz was also injured in the crash five miles south and one mile east of Bennett.
