Details Hardening Solicitation Limits Near Banks and Transit
A proposed rule makes it illegal to solicit money near banks and ATMs, on public transit, bus stops, or terminals. It bans aggressive solicitation likely to endanger safety, including touching, impeding, following, or standing within five feet after a declined request. It forbids soliciting drivers in traffic, on road medians or shoulders, and at highway ramps. It also prohibits soliciting on private property where posted no-solicitation signs exist.
