Peetie and Jiggie Paint the Hollow Bungalow
Peetie Bow Wow and Jiggie help Uncle Wiggily paint the bungalow. Jiggie paints a chicken design by mistake, and Peetie’s bucket spills on Jiggie’s head trapping him. Uncle Wiggily cannot remove the bucket yet and promises a solution in the next tale titled Uncle Wiggily gets Jiggie out.

Epworth League Institute slated July at Clearlake Methodist camp
Mount Vernon hosts the Epworth League institute July 13 to 19 at Clearlake Methodist camp with local men on the program. Dr Glenn Rowley offers courses on establishing a Christian home and life work, and Dean A R King leads Old Testament studies and liquor problem solving. Galilee service on July 17 features Dr H J Burgstahler. Richard T Baker of Chicago directs dramatics, with Dr E T Gough attending part of the institute. Miss Laurene Kepler serves as counselor for about twenty Mount Vernon youths. A pool party and rally at Thomas Park, Marion, is planned for Wednesday afternoon.
