EPA proposes steady conventional fuels and reduced advanced biofuels

The EPA said 2018 would keep 15 billion gallons of conventional renewables, including ethanol, blended into the fuel supply, while cutting advanced biofuels to 4.24 billion gallons from 4.28 billion this year. EPA chief Scott Pruitt framed the plan as reflecting market realities and production challenges. Renewable groups and oil interests remain divided as the policy seeks a middle ground.

Booming Business Boosts Fourth of July Fireworks Sales

Donnie Moore, operations manager for Bellino Fireworks in Cedar Rapids, opened with a 53-foot trailer and sold about 90 percent of stock by Tuesday. The Cedar Rapids tent had steady sales all week near Edgewood Road and Williams Boulevard SW, with peak activity last weekend. Unsold items will return to Bellino warehouses or ship to states with longer seasons.
