Intermodal Transportation Facility eyed for Cedar Rapids growth
Cedar Rapids plans a new Intermodal Transportation Facility on Second Street SE linking Ground Transportation Center Linn County trails and downtown skywalks. The project aims to expand downtown, provide parking, support Arc of East Central Iowa FACETs programs, and secure up to 80 percent federal funding with local bonds repaid by future parking fees. Council member Sarah Henderson notes community collaboration and federal support behind the initiative.
