Sheep receipts 2 000 demand steady to strong with native spring lambs 10 00 to 10 25 top 10 40. Idaho lambs 9 35. yearlings 7 50 to 8 40.
U S Department of Agriculture notes 8 500 hog receipts with price declines from 5 10c to 10c. top at 7 00. Cattle receipts 4 300 with steady to higher yearling and steer values and steady cows. Sheep sales around 2 700 with fat lambs up 15 25c, native and Idaho lambs priced from 8 50 to 10 00 and ewes weaker.

In the 24 hours to 8 am Thursday interior Iowa and southern Minnesota saw 26 200 head market decline from 23 700 last week and 18 900 a year ago. Prices for barrows and gilts vary by weight with heavy declines on sows and spot heavies down 25 to 30 cents. Readings show 160 180 lb barrows at 63 506 dollars, 80 220 lb at 6 90, 220 240 lb 6 40 to 6 75, 240-270 lb 6 15 to 6 55, 270-300 lb 5 70 to 6 25, 300-330 lb 5 50 to 5 90, 330-360 lb 8 25 to 5 70, and sow ranges from 5 30 to 4 70 depending on weight.

Cash grain prices include No 1 heavy dark northern 77 to 79 4 and a half cents, No 1 dark northern 76 to 78 1/8 cents, No 1 hard Montana 14 percent protein 79 to 80 1/4 cents, No 1 dark hard Montana winter 73 4 to 74 4 cents, No 1 hard amber durum 66 7/8 to 74 1/2 cents, No 1 red durum 62 1/2 to 63 1/2 cents. Corn No 3 yellow 43 1/2 to 45 1/2 cents, No 3 white 27 3/4 to 28 1/4 cents.

Charles McCune, 66, of Sioux City, was charged with manslaughter after a street fight left Lawrence Arnold of Kansas City and Evansville fatally injured. The incident unfolded in Sioux City on Thursday, authorities said.
