Scientists Try 28 Hour Day In Mammoth Cave Experiment
Physiology researchers Nathaniel Kleitman and Bruce Richardson lived a month in Mammoth Cave to study adapting to a 28 hour day. Richardson slept nine hours per cycle while Kleitman recorded data. The photo shows Richardson and Kleitman with ham as they test the cycle. A second caption notes Emmet Weakley of Lexington Illinois demonstrates fishing using a barometer, linking higher barometric pressure to better bites at Lake Kabetogana Minnesota.
