YMCA invites youths up to 17 to join tennis and gymnastics sessions starting July 11 at the Central YMCA youth department. Registration for the second swimming session is next week. Tennis meets Tuesdays and Thursdays with beginner 8 a.m. and intermediate 9 a.m. Gymnastics runs through Aug 27 with five beginner classes and one intermediate/advanced, with fees lower than usual.
Members of the 73rd Combat Support Hospital Reserve Unit based in Cedar Rapids head to Camp McCoy Wisconsin for a July 9 to August 6 active duty training period. One hundred fifty nine reservists will travel 200 miles by track jeep convoy and bus for field exercises to apply classroom skills and boost proficiency under Col Kenneth J Printen.
