Marion man pleads guilty to gun and drug charges in Cedar Rapids case
Kyler J. Jenkins 19, also known as Kyler Garcia, pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of a firearm by a drug user and cocaine distribution. He faces up to 30 years combined and potential extra time based on prior violent felony or serious drug offenses. The plea ties to a separate Jan 13 fatal shooting at Shamrock Apartments and a Jan 15 drug sale involving marijuana trade for the rifle. Authorities note Jenkins aided by another man J. Junkins, with ongoing investigations into Edgeton’s death and related drug activity. The case also involves Allen W. Miller and two juveniles.
