Fairfax considers legal zoning history amid rezoning hearing
Fairfax City Council opened a public hearing on two rezoning requests while asking whether the city has ever been legally zoned. Mayor James Stallman said the zoning map was reviewed by Linn County planners in 1975, but the criteria remained unclear. The council tabled action on Vanderbilt and Church street rezoning from R-1 to R-3 and delayed building permits until the issue is resolved. The council granted first reading to Star West Inc. cable franchise legislation and discussed improving parking controls after the Hey Deys event.
