In June military aircraft production fell to 8049 aircraft, the lowest since September. WPB official Charles E. Wilson attributed the drop to a shorter month and delays by three firms on smaller planes due to parts issues. He dismissed manpower shortage as a cause and said the decline should not continue. Wilson noted the B 29 performance was satisfactory to all but Japan.
