Fireworks and festivities light up Cedar Rapids area July 4 events
A major Fourth of July celebration centers on Mohawk Park and Ellis Park with a free Cedar Rapids Boat Club fireworks show at Ellis Park Harbor. City officials warn about road closures and parking limits along Ellis Road, with security provided by a special police force and a large expected crowd. Events include pancake breakfast, car show, Freedom Festival finale, Days Live Music, and multiple viewing locations along the river, plus postgame Kernels fireworks and Coralville 4thFest activities.
