All Iowa Lawn Tennis Club Revives Wimbledon Style Grass Court
Charles City area keeps a grass court dream alive with the All Iowa Lawn Tennis Club inaugural Alex J. Kuhn Invitational. Mark Kuhn, father of the late Alex Kuhn, restored and expanded the 9,000 square foot court on the family farm, aiming to replicate Wimbledon style play despite Iowa winters. The project honors Alex Kuhn, a Mason City city councilman and avid planner who died in 2016, and features improvements guided by Alex’s 2014 notes and the Iowa Cubs turf team oversight.
