Closure plan for Braille School residential program debated
A study panel recommends closing the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School in Vinton by fall 2012 to reallocate funds for more teachers and services statewide. Members praise potential gains for 400 students while some alumni warn the move will hurt those who rely on on campus residence. The proposal now goes to the Board of Regents for August discussion.
