Cedar Rapids approves gated Blairs Ferry housing plan
The City Planning Commission backed a 47 unit gated residential project on 6% acres off Blairs Ferry Road at Oakwood NE despite neighbor protests and a 315 signature petition. Developers agreed to rezone to R-3 and reduce units from 50, promising owner occupied high end townhomes and tree preservation. The plan goes to the City Council for final approval.
