Fire Levels Grandstand at Delaware County Fairgrounds
A fire destroyed the 3000 seat grandstand at the Delaware county fairgrounds on Friday night and damaged a nearby stage building. No injuries were reported. The state fire marshal’s office was asked to investigate. Fire, aided by high winds, spread from the grandstand to the stage. firefighters saved part of the building. Replacement cost for the grandstand was estimated at $150,000 by Mrs. Satterle, secretary and manager of the fair board.
