Fourth generation Coronas Circus thrives amid change
Serge Coronas, a 34 year old in the Coronas Family Circus, speaks of lifelong road life with two to three shows daily at the All-Iowa Fair Hawkeye Downs. The family of twelve performs in motor homes with a seven ring style show at Busch Stadium and a shrine event earlier this year. Insurance costs have tripled, forcing lion and tiger removal as the circus adapts to rising liability and competition for entertainment dollars. Coronas notes a hopeful future yet acknowledges challenges to the traveling act.
