Reagan Culver widen leads in fair straw poll
Ronald Reagan and John Culver increased their margins in The Gazette straw poll at the All-Iowa Fair after three days. Reagan led the presidential race with 533 votes to Anderson 445, Carter 298, Kennedy 223, while Culver topped Grassley 877 to 614.

July activities include noon opening of Exhibition Building and 1 PM tours of Family Living Center Fine Arts Building and Blue Stars of Marion YMCA. A 2 PM Microwave Oven Seminar follows a 2 PM High School Rodeo, then carnival opens at 3 PM. Evening events feature sewing machine embroidery seminars, cattle judging, Quassars High Wire Act, PRCA Rodeo, and more through 9:30 PM.
