Cedar Rapids adopts Fire Code changes with amends
The city council adopts a revised Cedar Rapids Fire Code based on Uniform Fire Code 1976 Edition. It repeals and replaces sections on permits, storage of explosives and hazardous materials, fire protection systems, misc. building and occupant safety rules, penalties, and enforcement provisions. The ordinance includes detailed rules for storage distances, ignition sources, ventilation, electrical, and inspection requirements with mayoral approval and Fire Marshal oversight.
