Girl Loses Leg In Clear Lake Boat Mishap
Ottumwa 16 year old Karen Freeman lost a leg and sustained severe injuries after a sailboat overturned at Clear Lake during a Saturday race. A motorboat rescuing the crew ran over her, blades injuring both legs. Freeman remained in serious condition as doctors reported.

Iowa Auto Crashes Claim Two Lives In Weekend Incidents
Two people died in Iowa traffic crashes last weekend. Robert Dreesen, 20, of Hartington Nebraska, was killed in a one car crash south of Lemars on highway 75 when the car struck a bridge and landed in the median. James Hydinger, also from Hartington, suffered only minor injuries. Minnie Geisinger, 67, of Fort Dodge, died at Mercy hospital from injuries from a Friday night three car crash near Palmer.

Antiques valued at 600 dollars were taken in a Saturday night breakin at a farmhouse south of Urbana tied to the Grace Parks estate.
