No Cigarettes and Monkey Dreams in Cedar Rapids
In Cedar Rapids a magazine editor visits Ohio and notes a rare abundance of No Cigarette signs. A local man seeks a pet monkey to accompany his hurdy gurdy act, hoping to borrow one by July Fourth. Service messages from overseas remain popular and the Feuss home faces a sale and eviction on birthdays. A cousin correspondence from Tiffin features a salt and pepper shaker set found in Germany. Around the Town notes a Cedar Rapids deputy clerk named Betty Engle who signs as Bessie Yep.
