Spinner baits and plastic tubes fuel Takes’s bass success
Thad Takes relies on spinner baits and plastic tubes for most catches. He singles out a half-ounce white and chartreuse spinner with tandem willow blades as his top lure and favors crayfish-colored tubes on jigs or worm hooks. He also uses Chompers grub rigs and topwater lures like buzzbaits or plastic frogs to spark explosive strikes in slop and shallow water on the Mississippi.
