Fans Lose Fan Poll for 1958 All-Star Game

Major league players, coaches and managers will select the 1958 All-Star starters in Baltimore on July 8, with each voter forbidden to choose players from his own club. The change follows fan voting turmoil in 1957 and will apply for a one year trial.

Dickerson on Cyclone List for Iowa State Vacancy

George Dickerson, No 1 assistant to UCLA coach Red Sanders, is added to the list of prospects for the Jim Myers vacancy at Iowa State. Dickerson, 44, UCLA graduate and former lineman, has been on the Bruin staff since 1946 and became Sanders’ chief assistant after Myers arrived at Iowa State last year.
