Life Harsh in Prague Family Seeks Asylum Abroad
Vienna dispatch reports Moritz Richter 46 and his wife Belle 38 fled with two young children from Czechoslovakia to Vienna to escape Communist rule. They lived in crowded quarters with two other families and faced tight rationing, paying for essentials with a 2500 kroner monthly income, aided briefly by the AJDC before the JDC was closed. The family hopes to emigrate to the United States or Canada, with Israel as a temporary open haven.
