Fatal rural Iowa school bus fire linked to acceleration
A 74 year old driver and a 16 year old passenger died after a bus backed from a ditch and accelerated, causing an engine compartment fire that spread to the cabin. The Riverside Community School District bus, in service since 2005, had three recalls and data from on board video was unrecoverable. The NTSB is leading the investigation with records withheld pending the probe.
