DOT backs original Hwy 10 extension route
A draft environmental impact report from the Iowa DOT endorses the original Highway 100 extension route in Linn County as the best balance of socioeconomic and natural impacts. The plan, a northwest Cedar Rapids bypass from Edgewood Road to Highway 30, would ease I 380 congestion and open new development areas. The Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce praised the report urging letters of support. The DOT will continue coordinating design and habitat mitigation with Linn County Conservation Board.
