Washington voters reject tax in city while approving local option tax
Eastern Iowa voters rejected two measures but passed a 1 cent local option sales tax in most areas. Washington city itself rejected the tax 483 to 578, while Coppock and surrounding areas approved 1,356 to 1,086. Other bond and levy proposals failed in Decorah and MFL MarMac districts.
